Rite Aid Supports Kids Treated at Hurley Children’s Hospital

As part of Rite Aid’s continued support of Hurley Children’s Hospital, the company and its Flint-Saginaw-Bay City customers have come together to raise lifesaving funds to change kids’ health and change their future.

The campaign comes during a critical time when the COVID-19 pandemic continues to create extraordinary need across the country.

Alex and James Zmeijko spent 39 days in the Hurley Children’s Hospital NICU before they were well enough to go home.

During this eight-week campaign at over 50 local Rite Aid locations, customers can add a donation to their in-store transactions to help Hurley kids like the Zmeijko Twins who visited their local Rite Aid recently with their mom, Jenny, and their sister, Madelyn.

To date, Rite Aid and its customers have raised and donated over $845,000 in support of pediatric patients at Hurley Children’s Hospital.

For associates like Lindsay at Rite Aid on 2506 East Hill Rd in Grand Blanc, the opportunity to help local kids during these trying times means the world.

“It’s awesome to have our team fully onboard with asking every customer and explaining that it’s going to Hurley Children’s Hospital– our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital,” she says.

“We just met a family who the money that we’re raising is going directly to help. I wish people would be able to meet families like that and know that every dollar they donate is going to help people in our own community.”

The store’s driving force of energy on the front end, Sandy, has been pushing hard since early July when the campaign began.

“We love it, and we’re gonna keep on going!” she exclaims.

With nearly two weeks left to spare, thanks to the efforts of associates like Lindsay and Sandy, their store has raised over $1,500 already this year, up over 148% from this time last year.

Campaign dates for the 2020 CMN Campaign at Rite Aid are July 12th – September 6th.
