Miracle Kid Lance treated to Rite Aid pizza party!

Nearly 30 Rite Aid associates in the Pittsburgh area, along with local wellness ambassadors greeted Pennsylvania Miracle Kid Lance and his mom at a CMN Hospitals pizza party at store 10893.

Rite Aid Pharmacy District Manager Scott Kislak, PharmD, says of the event, “It was great for so many of our Rite Aid associates to get to spend some time talking with Lance and his mom. Associates were able to gain a first-hand account of how their efforts benefit some great kids.”

Joey Warren, Program Director at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals got the party started and then turned the time over to Lance and his mom who shared how CMN Hospitals has benefited their family in the lengthy battle that Lance has had with an inoperable, cancerous brain tumor.

Kislak then spoke about how the annual CMN Hospitals fundraising campaign displays Rite Aid’s desire to be a caring neighbor and clearly demonstrates the RAE standard of CARE, as well as the good news that the Pittsburgh area is currently up 15% in fundraising over last year and that Rite Aid as a whole has raised over $3.2 million dollars for CMN Hospitals so far this year!

“I got to spend a significant amount of time with Lance and he is truly an inspiration,” continues Kislak. “He has a huge interest in ‘retro’ video games (the ones that I grew up playing) and was eager to discuss his favorite games as well as some fantastic experiences he has had courtesy of CMN Hospitals.”

Rite Aid fundraising for CMN Hospitals continues through May 6. Since becoming a sponsor in 1994, Rite Aid has raised more than $81 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
